Wrestling (European Championships)

Six wrestlers representing Armenia will participate in the 51 st European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships in Haparanda, Sweden this weekend.

Ashot Khachatryan (55 kg weight category), Vahan Juharyan (66 kg) and Vahe Karapetyan (84 kg) from Gyumri, Movses Karapetyan (74 kg) from Yerevan and wrestlers from Echmiatsin Zhora Vardanyan (66 kg) and Haykaz Galstyan (120 kg) will be competing for prize medals with wrestlers from 36 European countries.

Armenian wrestlers (Coach Levon Julfalakyan) are presented in five weight categories.

Tennis (ATP rankings for April)

ATP (Association of Tennis Professional) presented its list of best tennis players as of April 5.

American Andre Agassi holding third position in rankings with 165 race points after four tournaments played.

David Nalbandian of Argentina has 51 race points and is 33 rd. Nalbandian was among top ten tennis players of ATP last year. His final race position for previous year was 8.

The only Armenian in ATP representing Armenia Sargis Sargsyan moved down one position and takes 63 rd place with 31 points after nine tournaments.

Plane Beautiful

Wednesday (April 7) was "Day of Mothers and Beauty" in Armenia. At Zvartnots International Airport, staff greeted girls and women with flowers -- one small step for womenkind, one giant leap for civility in civil aviation.
