NAREKATSI IN MOSCOW : A congress dedicated to 1000th anniversary of “Book of Lamentation” written by Armenian mediaeval poet Narekatsi opened Wednesday in Moscow State Literature Institute after Gorki. The event’s aim is to present Narekatsi’s role in the world literature to Russian and European readers.
AHKTAMAR FILM RELEASED: The presentation of two versions (one with some erotic scenes) of the "Akhtamar" musical film shot by Hovhannes Hovhannisyan on the basis of the vocal-symphonic poem of Sirvard Garamanuk, Istanbul composer of Armenian origin, will be held at the Moscow movie-house on June 27. The film is produced by pianist Shahan Artsruni.
The film is based on the poem by Armenian poet Hovhanes Tumanyan about young lovers trying to be united across the waters of Lake Van.
