A court in Yerevan dealt on Thursday another
blow to Raffi Hovannisian's hopes to stand
in the upcoming presidential elections when
it effectively refused to certify that the
U.S.-born former foreign minister has been
an Armenian citizen for the last ten years.

A top aide to President Robert Kocharyan
was appointed on Wednesday as the new head
of Armenia's state television and radio,
replacing journalist Tigran Naghdalyan who
was murdered under uncertain circumstances
two weeks ago.
