Armenian grandmaster Karen Asryan has won the nine-round
Tigran Petrosyan 75th Anniversary Memorial Chess Tournament
in Stepanakert, Karabakh.

Against players from Armenia, Poland,
Latvia, Iran,
Switzerland, and Russia,
Asryan suffered only one defeat against two-time Champion of
Armenia Gabriel
Sargsyan.
Asryan played 4 draws
and won 4 victories
earning 6 points in
total.
Second place was taken
by Bartlomiej Macieja of
Poland who was the
strongest chess player
among all participants of the tournament (40 th in FIDE rankings).
Macieja also suffered only one defeat at the tournament, however, unlike Asryan he won only 3 victories and played 5 draws, which gave him 5.5 points.
Grandmasters Gabriel Sargsyan (Armenia), Ashot Anastasyan (Armenia) and Mikhail Kobalia (Russia) shared places from 3 to 5 with 5 points collected at the tournament.
With 4.5 points Latvian grandmaster Yevgeny Sveshnikov and Armenian international master Tigran Petrosyan shared 6 th and 7 th places.
Junior champion of Armenia national master 17 year old Arman Pashikyan was 8 th at the tournament with 3.5 points.
